2.3.3 MAIN / SUB Setting when Using 2 Wired Remote Controllers
Outline The MAIN / SUB setting is necessary when 1 indoor unit is controlled by 2 remote controllers.
When you use 2 remote controllers (control panel and separate remote controller), set one to
MAIN and the other to SUB.
Detail The remote controllers are factory set to MAIN, so you only have to change one remote
controller from MAIN to SUB.

Step Action
1 Insert a flat screwdriver into the groove between the upper and lower part of the
remote controller, as shown in the illustration below. Gently pry off the upper part
of the controller, working from the two possible positions.
2 Set the [MAIN / SUB changeover] switch on the PCB to “S”.

1 Put on the power for both remote
controllers.
2 Determine which one is the sub/main
remote controller.
3 When Error code: U5 - Connection
under check Please wait for a moment is
displayed on both remote controllers, push
and hold the [Operation mode selector]
button
of the sub remote controller for
4 seconds.
4 The sub remote controller now displays
Sub remote contrl.
Note) The main remote controller still
displays Main remote contrl.
5 After a few seconds, the basic screen is
displayed.
