To delete an existing entry, click the selection button on the far left that corresponds to the port you want to
configure and click the
Delete
button. To create a new entry, click the
New
button, a separate menu will appear.
Configure the parameters as desired and click the
Apply
button to add the new string to the SNMP Community
Table.

Configure the following for the new SNMP Community entry:
Parameter
Description
Community Name
Type an alphanumeric string of up to 33 characters that is used to identify
members of an SNMP community. This string is used like a password to give
remote SNMP managers access to MIB objects in the switch’s SNMP agent.
View Name
Type an alphanumeric string of up to 32 characters that is used to identify the
group of MIB objects that a remote SNMP manager is allowed to access on
the switch. The view name must exist in the SNMP View Table.
Access Right
Use the pull-down menu to select the access right:
read_only

Specifies that SNMP community members using the community
string created with this command can only read the contents of the MIBs on
the switch.
read_write
−
Specifies that SNMP community members using the community
string created with this command can read from and write to the contents of
the MIBs on the switch.
SNMP Engine ID
The Engine ID is a unique identifier used for SNMP V3 implementations. This is an alphanumeric string used to
identify the SNMP engine on the switch.

To change the Engine ID, type the new Engine ID in the space provided and click the
Apply
button.
