Each area of the storage system is identified with a unique color.

- Time Shift buffer size - space set aside for rewinding and replay of
live TV

- Keepers - shows that have been recorded and are available for view-

- Groups - the sum of all space used by Group recordings

- Recycled - the sum of all shows currently in the Recycled folder

- Reserved - space that is set asi de for scheduled recordings that have
not yet taken place. Note that this bar overlaps the blue Group color bar. This
indicates that a portion of the Group space will be reclaimed for use by
scheduled recordings. Scheduled recordings have a higher priority than
Group recordings.

- Free space - hard disk space that is available to be used for new
recordings

- Disk left - free space on your hard disk not used by Digital VCR that is
set aside for the storing other types of data (applications, games, music, etc.)
Changing Storage Settings
To make a change to a setting, you can edit from the remote control or with the PC keyboard
and mouse. The Total Storage and Time Shift edit fields display both hard disk space amounts
(in GB) and recording time (in minutes). The recording time displays are shown for each of the
preset recording quality settings.
Total Storage Amount
To change the Total Storage amount from the remote control:
1. From the Main Menu, select

2. Press

to open the Storage Configuration page.
3. Use the up/down arrows to select the

parameter.
4. Use the left/right arrows to increase or decrease the total amount of your hard disk to be
used for Digital VCR storage. (The individual storage readouts will update in real time to
reflect the changes being made.)
5. To use the new settings press

button to exit the Storage Config-
uration page without saving your changes.
Time Shift Amount
To change the Time Shift amount from the remote control:

To edit the from the PC keyboard, use the arrow keys to navigate and select a field. In addition,
the bar graph itself can be edited with the mouse. See the region highlighted in the graphic
above. The editable area is designated with a triangle below the bar graph.
