Play
The

button is used to start playback of a selected prerecorded program, or resume play-
back after the

$86(
button has been pressed.
The

button is also used to perform direct locate functions. For example, pressing the
number keys
and then
, followed by the

button will locate to exactly 45 minutes into
your recorded program. For larger numbers, you can enter them in exact minutes or hours and
minutes (e.g. enter

jump one hour and fifteen minutes).
Pause
To stop the playback of the current live TV program temporarily, press the

button. When
a live program is paused, the Digital VCR application will automatically begin creating Thumb-
nails for you at regular intervals, as a guide to what has happened in the program since it was
paused. Pressing the
B
button will display thumbnails. Pressing the
3
/$<
button will restart
playback.
Frame Advance
Pressing the

button once stops playback. Pressing the
3

button a second time will
advance the picture by single frames. You can press the
3

button repeatedly to advance a
frame at a time, or hold it down to advance multiple frames.
Stop
Press

to cancel playback of a prerecorded program. The picture will freeze at the last
frame played. No Thumbnails are created. Press the

button to start the Thumbnails, or press

to continue watching the program.

while watching a live TV broadcast has an effect similar to pressing the

button— playback stops temporarily, but no Thumbnails are created for you.
Record On/Off
You can immediately start recording the program you are watching by pressing the
Record On/
Off
button. Pressing the
left
or
right
arrows will increase or decrease the recording end time
in 5 minute increments. Pressing the
Record
button will increase the recording end time in 30
minute increments. When the maximum recording end time is reached, it will cycle back to the
original end time. Pressing the
Stop
button while the record screen is visible will terminate the
recording. The record screen will revert to the live TV image after 5 seconds.
