5.9 Graphics Interface Module
Perform the following procedure to remove the Graphics Interface Module from the
PowerStorm 1000 graphics subsystem deskside chassis:
1. Perform a normal system power down (see Section 5.2).
2. Disconnect the Hbus cable from the connector on the rear of the Graphics Interface
Module.
3. Remove the left side panel (see Section 5.4).
4. Remove the module hold-down bracket (see Section 5.5).
5. Put on an antistatic wriststrap.

An antistatic wriststrap must be worn when handling any board or module to
prevent damage to the board or module.

6. Loosen the captive thumb-screw
on the left end of the Graphics Interface Module
(see Figure 5-7).
7. Pull out on the levers
at each end of the Graphics Interface Module (see Figure 5-
7).
8. Slide the Graphics Interface Module out of the card cage.
To replace the Graphics Interface Module in slot 1 (top slot), reverse steps 1 through 8 of
the removal procedure.
