1–12 DIGITAL PowerStorm 1000 Graphics Subsystem Owner's Guide

1.3.7 Standard Resolution Module (SRM)

The Standard Resolution Module provides support for displaying either the VGA console
or graphics output. It also provides the support for stereoscopic rendering. The Standard
Resolution Module supports the VGA console by using a pass-through video cable
attached to a standard VGA module. The additional VGA module is required to be
installed in the AlphaStation system in order for console output to be displayed. The
Standard Resolution Module supports (1920 x 1280) at 76 Hz and resolutions of 640 x 480
up to 1920 x 1280. The entry and full PowerStorm 1000 graphics subsystems contain a
Standard Resolution Module. The Standard Resolution Module bulkhead has a DIN style
connector for the stereoscopic output, an HD15 female input connector for the VGA
console video, and an HD15 female output connector for the graphics video cable. Figure
1-8 shows the Standard Resolution Module.
