9.2.16.   To prevent the ingress of liquid into the interior of the cover, block off the
 

small steam hole in the seal retaining plate using an easily removable means.

 

(e.g. tapered wooden peg of suitable size).

9.2.17.   Remove any loose food from the seal retaining plate and cover seal by prescraping.

9.2.18.   Using a scrub brush or a scouring pad, scrub the seal retaining plate until it is
 

free of any persistent food residue and / or discolouring.

9.2.19.   Wash the cover with the hand washing compound / heated water solution
 

retained from previously taking care not to avoid splashing or immersing the

 

pressure release valve.

9.2.20.   Allow cover to air dry.

9.2.21.   On the cover, unblock the small steam hole in the seal plate.

9.2.22.   Remove any loose food from the main case seal by pre-scraping.

9.2.23.   Wipe the case seal with a clean cloth which has been soaked in a hand dishwashing 

compound / heated water solution.

9.2.24.   Wipe the case seal with a damp cloth to remove all traces of hand dishwashing 

compound.

9.2.25.   Clean the main case using a cleaning cloth and the hand dishwashing compound / 

heated water solution previously retained. Take care to avoid splashing the control 
panel.

9.2.26.   Rinse the main case in clean, potable water to remove all traces of hand dishwashing 

compound taking care to avoid splashing the control panel.

9.2.27.   Allow main case to air dry.
