Internal modulation
Internal modulation is designed primarily for demonstration purposes. The Cobolt Monitor™ software can be
used to turn the current of each laser diode up and down to the ‘Low current’ and ‘High current’ set points with
a maximum frequency of 500 Hz. Set the ‘Period’ and ‘On’ time to define the cycle for each laser and use the
delay to control the relative start time for subsequent laser lines. The ’Delay’ setting is only meaningful when
the lasers are started simultaneously, which can be achieved by using the ‘Restart’ button.
Modulation mode combinations
In addition to the modulation types described above, the DPL can be operated with a combination of modulation
signals.
D Analog
The DPL can be used with hybrid d analog modulation. This can be accessed in the Cobolt Monitor™ software
under the Modulation Type option. In this mode, whenever the digital state is on, the laser runs at a power determined
by the analog voltage.
