Above the spider of a XX97 lower frame (Ref. Drawing 134391):
7.8.1
Lower Base Frame, P/N 117354, Revision S or later:
7.8.1.1 Remove the transformer (P/N 134066-1) from its bracket (134067-
1), if attached. Undo the two (2) Phillips Head screws from the
upper bracket securing on the transformer and reverse the upper
bracket.
7.8.1.2 Carefully lift the transformer and place on top of the leg with the
four (4) ¼ inch clearance holes drilled on top and side.
7.8.1.3 Insert four (4) ¼-20 UNC x 1-1/4 inch cap screws with four (4) ¼
inch flat washers through the outboard mounting holes of the
transformer.
7.8.1.4 Thread on the four (4) ¼ -20 nylon lock nuts with four (4) ¼ inch
flat washers onto the ¼-20 UNC cap screws under the spider.
Tighten securely in accordance with Sea Tel Procedure 122305.
7.8.2
Lower Base Frame, P/N 117354, Revision N through R:
7.8.2.1 Use Steps 6.7 to mount the transformer underneath the spider.
7.8.2.2 The four (4) ¼ inch clearance holes on the side of the spider are
NOT intended for use with 97 inch reflectors.
7.8.3
Lower Base Frame, P/N 117354, Revision M or earlier:
7.8.3.1 Ensure all fasteners are tight between the transformer and its
bracket.
7.8.3.2 Carefully lift the buck transformer and place over the spider.
7.8.3.3 Slide the transformer bracket securing plate between the diagonal
brace and the channel of the spider leg. Align the plate with the
outboard holes of the transformer bracket.
7.8.3.4 Insert one (1) ½-13 UNC x 1-1/4 inch cap screw with one (1) ½
inch flat washer in the two (2) outboard holes of the transformer
bracket (see Photograph 1). Apply Loctite 271 threadlocker.
7.8.3.5 Thread on one (1) ½-13 UNC nut with one (1) ½ inch lock washer
and one (1) ½ inch flat washer on each cap screw. Tighten
securely in accordance with Sea Tel Procedure 122305.
7.9
Under the base frame of an 81 inch radome (Ref. Drawing 134392):
7.9.1
Remove the 3/8 – 16 UNC fastener from the inboard brace connection near
the access hatch. Discard.
7.9.2
Insert the 3/8 – 16 UNC x 1.25 inch long cap screw with flat washer
through the inboard brace connection, ensuring to capture the brace and
the frame. Apply Loctite 271 threadlocker.
7.9.3
Carefully lift the buck transformer and position on the 3/8 – 16 UNC cap
screw. Thread the 3/8 – 16 UNC nut with flat washer and lock washer on
to the cap screw and tighten until the flat washer bottoms on the bracket.
