END FRAME INSTALLATION
Consult end frame diagrams in Quick Start section of these
instructions
before
you begin. Assistance is required to
assemble end framing kit components.
ATTENTION:
If main cover is installed, loosen the two (2)
main cover bonnet ratchets at the frame end where end
frame will be installed and remove ratchets. Ratchets are
reattached to end frame base tube
after
end frame and
panel are installed.
Install Ground Posts for Door Jamb Installation
The following steps describe one way to set ground posts
for vertical end frame tubes.
1. At ground level, measure between end rafter legs to
locate center of end wall. Use a plumb line to identify
center of overhead end rafter and mark that location as
well.
NOTE:
Mark center of end wall so multiple measurements can be made as needed.
2. Using dimensions on End Frame diagrams, locate positions of 4" x 4"
vertical frame members
for door framing.
3. Dig a 12" diameter hole
at the locations found in previous step
to a depth that is below the geographic frost line.
4. Add concrete to hole. Concrete should remain 4" below ground level so it does not interfere with construction and
installation of other end wall components.
5. Determine required door width and insert one 3.50" x 3.50" square tube (#S350P024) into the concrete approximately
12". See diagram below. Repeat step and verify that tubes are plumb and the correct distance apart.
Use the diagram
to space the vertical door frame members.
3.50" x 3.50" square tube (#S350P024):
8 inches above ground; 12 inches in concrete.
