END PANEL INSTALLATION (CONTINUED)
END PANEL CONDUIT INSTALLATION
End panel includes vertical and horizontal pockets on
the inside surface. PVC tubes (vertical) and metal pipe
(horizontal) are inserted into these pockets. Conduit is
secured to vertical frame members of end frame using
straps and to end frame base tube using ratchets and
straps. These vertical and horizontal conduits help prevent
end panel from flapping against end framing during windy
and stormy conditions.
Complete these steps to install the PVC conduit and the
metal conduit.
Install Horizontal End Panel Conduit
Required Pipe: 1.315" x 75" Swaged Pipe (#131S075)
Complete these steps:
1. Locate the 1.315" pipes and assemble sections to
achieve the required length. (Cut to length if needed.)
NOTE:
For an end wall that includes an overhead door,
only two (2) sections of pipe are needed. Skip Step 2
and continue with Step 3.
2. Secure each pipe joint with a Tek screw and wrap joint
and screw with duct tape to prevent damage to end
panel.
3. Insert conduit into end panel horizontal pocket. See
diagrams for locations.
4. Locate all QH1061 ratchets, space them evenly
along
the inside of the bottom frame tube
, and attach these
to frame tube using Tek screws. Arrows in the following
diagrams show where to attach ratchets.
Attach
ratchets to the inside surface of the base rail.
5. Once ratchets are attached, make a horizontal slit
(approximately 3"– 4" long) in horizontal pocket of end
panel (containing conduit) directly above each ratchet.
WARNING:
Cut only the end panel pocket.
DO NOT
cut through the end panel.
6. Locate the 1" strapping and cut a section that reaches
from the ratchet (#QH1061), around the horizontal
conduit in the end panel pocket, and back to ratchet.
NOTE:
Allow enough extra strap so you can
insert
both ends
of the strap into the ratchet.
