Carry out the yearly cleaning with the following products:
•
Warm water (30 to 40°C - Never hotter than 60°)
•
Water jet with a maximum pressure of (1.5 to 2.5 kg/m
2
)
•
Mild detergent (e.g. TEEPOL). Dilute depending on the dirtiness of the surface.
•
Always rinse with clean water.
Maintenance frequency
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Generally speaking, for each type of unit, carry out the preliminary checks listed in section COMMISSIONING-PRELIMINARY
CHECKS.
The maintenance frequencies given below have been determined for equipment in regular use.
If the equipment is not used regularly, adjust the frequencies based on the number of hours of actual operation.
Once a month
a) Clean the air filters (flat or pleated) and replace them as required.
b) Check the inside of the humidifier or washer and in particular the absence of any scaling or incipient corrosion caused by the
water used (test and titrate as necessary).
c) Clean the washer filter pump.
Check that the float valve is not stuck.
Once a quarter
a) Lubricate the motor fan bearings as instructed by the manufacturer. Apply only the quantities of lubricant indicated (see
lubrication instructions on the preceding pages).
b) Check and adjust the tension of the belts. Each belt should deflect by about 25 mm in relation to its normal relaxed position
when a finger is pressed on it.
Should the belts slip after their tension has been correctly adjusted, clean them with carbon tetrachloride or another similar
product.
When a belt is worn or breaks and has to be replaced, it is essential that the entire set of belts is replaced in order to ensure that
all the transmission strands are of the same length.
c) If necessary, use a descalant to remove any scale deposits from the humidifier or from the washer (see water treatment
section).
Always use descalants that are safe for zinc. Never use strong acids such as mineral acids. Such descalants may be obtained
from specialist firms.
Drain and rinse thoroughly.
Once a year
The following operations must be carried out in addition to monthly and quarterly maintenance:
a) Check the general condition of the UNIT (corrosion) as well as internal and external accessories which may require cleaning.
b) Check that the damper rods operate correctly and that the blades remain in position.
Do not grease the damper spindle bearings if they are made of nylon.
c) Check that the condensate drain tank beneath the cooling coil does not contain foreign bodies that could block the drainage
pipe.
d) Open the P-trap to check for obstructions that could block the flow of condensate, overflow and drainage water from the
washer.
e) Clean the fan turbine and shaft. Remove any rust with emery cloth and apply a coat of rust-inhibiting paint (avoid drips and
excess paint along the leading edges of the blades as this could alter the FAN’s operation).
Check the condition of the shock absorbers.
