STEP 3: Progressively
tighten the screws in a criss-cross pattern until the assembly is correctly fastened together (refer to the table for the appropriate tightening torques).
EASY REMOVAL:
Simply remove the two tightening screws, insert them in the pulley removal holes, and tighten them in a criss-cross pattern until the the bushing is released from the shaft.
Lubrication
a) ADVANTAGES OF GREASE
Always use bearing grease. Many types and grades are available.
In addition, grease lubrication makes monitoring and maintenance easier because the grease tends to stay inside bearings. This is a major advantage over smooth bearings,
which are oil lubricated. Another advantage of ball bearings, and which is particularly appreciated in the food and textile industries, is their cleanliness.
In addition to its lubricating qualities, grease creates an efficient barrier against foreign matter and its rust prevention properties help to protect bearings and their
components.
b) MOTOR AND FAN LUBRICATION FREQUENCY
Depending on the bearing operating conditions, the use of grease allows both long-term lubrication and frequent lubrication. The limit between these two lubrication methods
can be set at 1 year.
Determining the appropriate lubrication frequency depends primarily on the type of bearings and their rotation speed. The charts opposite (calculated for diameter 3 series
bearings operating under moderate load and temperature conditions) provide an excellent basis for determining lubrication frequency. The frequencies given in the charts
may need to be adjusted to take into account various factors whose impact is difficult to assess. Thus, the lubrication frequency for a diameter series of less than 3 will be
shorter and vice versa. The type of bearing cage, the working environment (humidity, presence of dust), and the load and temperature conditions of the system may also
have an effect on the lubrication frequency.
