CIAT disclaims liability under its warranty for damage to metal sheeting and accidents caused to equipment that is ancillary to our
main supply (motor, pump, etc.) if, for reasons of installation on site and the needs of the system itself, our equipment is used to
support equipment, cables or walkways, or for any purpose other that for which it is specifically designed.
CIAT is released from any liability when any external items are fitted on the equipment supplied by us without following best
industry practices.
Examples of this include installing actuators that are not powerful enough to drive the dampers and non-removable coil
connections.
Coil connections
All high points must be fitted with an air bleed valve and all low points with a settlement chamber fitted with a drain cock.
Connections must comply with local administration rules, technical specification requirements and best industry practices.
In order to facilitate inspection, maintenance and potential dismantling, couplings must be removable and capable of being
isolated from the incoming and return fluids without reducing the clearance required for the coils.
Before connecting the coils, check that the dimensions (excluding the flanges) allow the coils to be withdrawn and screw flanges
to be used.
The cooling coil sections are designed with a pipe for draining condensate to a collection tank. Connect this pipe to the sewer,
making sure to place it a correct slope and fit an adequate P-trap. Use T-fittings rather than bends to make cleaning easier.
Fit a funnel in order to check that the condensate drains correctly.
Fitting the P-trap
All water drain pipes must be fitted with a P-trap, i.e.:
•
To drain condensate from the direct-expansion cooling coil pan,
•
Humidifier overflow.
The P-trap must be fitted correctly as
shown in the diagram below.
Dimension ‘A’ must always be equal to twice the section’s negative pressure in mm.
For example: with 50 Pa negative pressure, the dimensions of the P-trap must be those shown above.
WARNING
Connect a pipe of the same diameter to the outlet pipe on the section. Never fit a reducer.
Place the drain pipe at an angle to ensure a free flow into the drain (slope of approximately 0.005).
We also recommend fitting an inspection funnel on the pipes leading to the drains in order to check the flow.
