Cleaning the distribution system above the module
The pipes are easily accessible once the module has been removed.
Remove the clamp holding the pipe (1) and lift it by pushing it against the housing.
Remove the distribution pipe (3) from the clamps holding the cover.
Remove manifold blanking plugs.
Using a punch with maximum tip diameter of 3 mm (4) or a similar tool, clean the water spray openings then rinse the distribution pipe.
PROTECTING AND MAINTAINING THE HEAT RECOVERY UNIT
4.1 Filtration
The heat recovery units are equipped with upstream filtration designed for the conditions and quality of the extracted and drawn-in air.
The filtration quality will be suited to the specific needs of each system.
In general, GRAVIMETRIC filters with an ASHRAE efficiency rating of 85% are sufficient for the most common problems. It may be necessary to fit a filter restriction indicator
on some systems.
Correct filtration will efficiently protect the heat recovery unit and ensure its stated performance levels over its working life.
NOTE: excessive fouling of the heat recovery unit will result in:
a) lower heat recovery unit performance
b) abnormally low air flow rates
c) the risk of malfunctions occurring on the fan motor units
d) clogging of the heat recovery unit
Cleaning
Clean the heat recovery units as follows:
•
The frequency of cleaning will depend on the air quality
•
Check once a month (optional)
•
Depending on the level of fouling:
•
clean twice a quarter
•
clean twice a year
•
The heat recover units must be cleaned at least once a year.
