and ID number of the Fill and Key sources in
the appropriate fields.

matte as specified in the active frame buffer.
To exit the menu without executing the Matte:

Any object that can be displayed can be used as a key
object. The two most practical ways of doing this outside
of Matte Tools is by using the Chyron Logo Compose
option or a paint system such as CHYRON Liberty. Out-
lines can also be created using Image Tools.
Logo Compose allows you to define any shape, and has
the added benefit of yielding antialiased objects which
are easily scaled using the Scale function in RGB Tools.
Logo Compose gives the best and most accurate results
when using the Image Matte function in Matte Tools.
For example, you can create an oval logo for use in crop-
ping head shots. The oval can be sized online to give you
the same general proportions of head and shoulders. The
resultant image can be scaled using RGB Tools to
achieve consistent sizes.
If using a paint system, it must be noted that some do not
provide a separate key channel. These systems can, how-
ever, create a key signal as a separate pass, in much the
same way as the Self Key function in Matte Tools. To do
this, you would first capture the video (for example, a
station logo with some transparency as part of the
design). Save this in the buffer assigned to CHANNEL
A, then use the paint system to create a key object, which
would be placed in the buffer assigned to CHANNEL B.
