Attachment points
There are three attachment points on the MSA G1 C. The type and location of these
attachment points are listed below:
a spring clip below the left shoulder strap adjustment buckle;
an attachment ring below the right shoulder strap adjustment buckle; and
an attachment ring next to the right waist adjustment buckle.
The spring clip on the left should strap serves as an attachment point for the BA tally
tag and/or the facemask.
The spring clip on the left should strap serves as the attachment point for the
tally tag and can be used as an attachment point for the facemask.
Pressure reducer
The pressure reducer reduces the cylinder pressure (300 bar) to a medium pressure,
which is in the range of 6 to 8 bar. The medium pressure is further reduced by the
demand valve to a pressure that is slightly above atmospheric pressure.
The pressure reducer:
has a flow capacity of 700 litres per minute at full pressure;
incorporates a fail-safe design which ensures air flow to the operator in the event of
a malfunction within the pressure reducer;
incorporates a medium pressure relief valve which operates in the range of 11 to 15
bar, and
a threaded cylinder connector with a sintered filter to capture particulates that may
be in the air stream.
The pressure reducer contains the primary low-pressure warning whistle (lpww). The
low-pressure warning whistle activates when the cylinder air pressure reaches
55 +/- 5 bar and draws down 5 lpm of air when activated.
