MSA G1 Classic Breathing Apparatus
About the MSA G1 Electronic
The purpose of this topic is to ensure awareness of the MSA G1 E.
Both MSA G1 sets provide added comfort for the wearer by way of larger, non-slip
shoulder straps, weight distribution being on the hips rather than the shoulders and a
rotating height adjustable lumber support catering for all body types. Both sets have
buddy breathing capability and the MSA G1 facemask, with three sizes available,
allows for a personalised fit, clearer communications and improved vision.
The MSA G1 C and MSA G1 E have the same buddy breathing manifold, enabling the
different sets to connect to each other in the event of an emergency and making it
possible for BA operators to share air. Furthermore, both sets have a low-pressure
warning whistle which operates at 55+/- 5 bar.
The MSA G1 E is electronic, while the MSA G1 C has pneumatic gauges and whistles.
The MSA G1 E set:
contains a battery;
has flashing buddy lights;
has a power module;
has an electronic low air alarm that will sound at 100 bar; and
a series of different alarms (including motion alarms) built into a dual gauge (i.e.
both digital and analogue) control module.
