CAUTION
ON 12 VDC APPLICATIONS, INCOMING POWER MUST HAVE A 1 AMP SLOW-BLOW FUSE IN
LINE WITH THE POSITIVE LEAD NEAR THE BATTERY OR POWER SOURCE.
ENSURE THE PROPER DC VOLTAGE IS CONNECTED TO THE RECEIVER/DECODER.
OBSERVE PROPER POLARITY WHEN MAKING ALL CONNECTIONS.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE CAUTIONS WILL RESULT IN VEHICLE AND EQUIPMENT
DAMAGE.
The use of an external 13.8 VDC source requires the use of an external DC filter between the power supply and
the receiver/decoder power terminals. When the receiver/decoder is supplied with DC voltage in this fashion, the
circuit breaker on the Gold Box is non-functional. If an ON/OFF switch is required, it must be provided in the
power supply lines by the installer. The installer provides all wiring, switches, fuses and terminals.
Referring to Figure 8, two screw terminals underneath the Gold Box are provided for the 12 VDC wiring. Connect
the 12 VDC supply to these terminals, observing correct polarity as shown. The internal 115 VAC/12 VDC power
supply is bypassed but it should be left in place for use when bench testing the receiver/decoder.
