To avoid dama g e to the power cord and creatin g a fire hazard, alway s turn OFF the
main power s witch, and unplu g the interface cable when movin g the machine.
Otherwi s e, the power cord or interface cable may be dama g ed, re s ultin g in a fire or
electrical s hock.
•
Make s ure that the power plu g i s firmly in s erted into the power outlet if the machine
wa s moved. Do not u s e the machine while the connection i s loo s e, a s doin g s o may
cau s e a fire.
•
When plu gg in g or unplu gg in g a U S B cable when the power plu g i s plu gg ed into an
AC power outlet, do not touch the metal part of the connector, a s thi s may re s ult in an
electrical s hock.
•
Do not drop paper clip s , s taple s , or other metal object s in s ide the machine. Al s o, do
not s pill water, liquid s , or flammable s ub s tance s (alcohol, benzene, paint thinner,
etc.) in s ide the machine. If the s e item s come into contact with a hi g h-volta g e area
in s ide the machine, it may re s ult in a fire or electrical s hock. If the s e item s are
dropped or s pilled in s ide the machine, immediately turn OFF the main power s witch,
and di s connect the power cord from the power outlet. Then, contact your local
authorized Canon dealer.

Clo s e the feeder/platen cover g ently to avoid catchin g your hand s , a s thi s may re s ult

Do not pre ss down hard on the feeder/platen cover when u s in g the platen g la ss to
make copie s of thick book s . Doin g s o may dama g e the platen g la ss and re s ult in
per s onal injury.

Do not place your hand s , hair, clothin g , etc., near the exit and feed roller s . Even if the
machine i s not in operation, your hand s , hair, or clothin g may g et cau g ht in the
roller s , which may re s ult in per s onal injury or dama g e if the machine s uddenly s tart s
printin g .
•
Paper that ha s ju s t been output from the machine may be hot. Be careful when
removin g or ali g nin g paper from the output tray. Touchin g paper ri g ht after it i s
output may re s ult in low-temperature burn s .
•
Do not touch the fini s her while the machine i s printin g , a s thi s may re s ult in per s onal
injury.
