Each time a service call, alarm, or jam occurs sends the error log to Remote Mon-

Calibration log

Each time calibration is executed in the device, E-RDS sends the log to Remote
Monitoring Server.

Data transmission

ROM version / Device con-
figuration

E-RDS periodically sends the firmware information of the device to Remote Moni-
toring Server. E-RDS sends the device configuration information only when there is
any change in the configuration.

E-RDS debug log

Debug logs of E-RDS are stored in E-RDS, and they are sent to Remote Monitoring
Server only when they exceed a specific size.

Environment log

E-RDS periodically sends environment information (such as the temperature inside
the machine) to Remote Monitoring Server.

SMART information

E-RDS periodically sends SMART information of the storage to Remote Monitoring
Server.

Service Mode Menu

E-RDS sends some of the data of Service Mode Menu when it detects a specific
alarm or service call log error or when it detects a change in the settings of Service
Mode Menu.

Sublog transmission

E-RDS sends data, such as sublog or DCON log of the device, only when it receives
a sublog transmission instruction from Remote Monitoring Server.

Operation instruction Operation check

E-RDS contacts Remote Monitoring Server to check if there is processing to be
executed next, and receives the following instructions if any.

• Linkage with Software Distribution(CDS)
• Sublog transmission

Linkage with server RDS bit function

E-RDS sends data to the RDS server with an instruction from the RDS server.

Third party function

E-RDS sends data to the 3rd party server other than the Remote Monitoring Server.

■ Servicing Notes

• After clearing the setting values in service mode (execution of COPIER > FUNCTION > CLEAR > MN-CON), it is necessary

to initialize the E-RDS setting (ERDS-DAT) and execute a communication test (COM-TEST). If they are not performed, the
transmission of counter data to Remote Monitoring Server may end in error.
In addition, all settings must be reconfigured after the replacement of storage.

• Do not change the values of the following service mode items unless otherwise instructed.

If they are changed, an error occurs in the communication with Remote Monitoring Server.
