7.6 Programming
Programming the CSAT3BH is accomplished by accessing the program for either the CR6 or
CR1000X data logger at the downloads section of the CSAT3BH web page
.
7.7 Data logger and CSAT3H heater
controller box programs
The CSAT3BH uses a smart heating algorithm to both maintain and clear obstructions from the
sonic path. This requires the Campbell Scientific data logger program to contain the proper
section of code for control.
Example CRBasic code provided by Campbell Scientific will have these required sections
designated with the comment, “Has to be in Logger program”.
Failure to maintain these sections of code will cause the heater to not function. If the program or
OS of the controller needs updating, the USB port may be used. Additionally, if remote
communications are available to the main data logger, the RS-485 link to the controller box may
be used to send the program/operating system (see
Sending an OS to the CSAT3H heater
(p. 89)).
NOTE:
Do not modify the program running on the control box without first speaking with Campbell
Scientific. Contact Campbell Scientific for help if attempting to update the program or
operating system of the controller board. Sending a new program to the controller requires a
specific procedure. Not following the recommended procedure may result in the program
stopping and requiring a trip to the field site to manually load a new operating system or
program.
7.8 CSAT3H heater controller output
The CSAT3BH outputs the same data as the CSAT3B; however, additional information provided
by the CSAT3H heater controller is also output into the HeaterControlData table.
