1.2. Precautions
Warning, consult accompanying documents!
This operating manual contains information and warnings that
the user has to follow to ensure reliable operation of the instru-
ment.
It has to be read before installation can be started.
The CAMAG ADC2 is manufactured and tested in accordance
with the European safety publications EN 61010-1 : 2001, EN
61326-1: 1997 und EN 61326: 1997/A1: 1998. The instrument
complies with safety class 1 and has been designed for indoors
use only (IP 20). Further, this device has passed the CAMAG
Quality Assurance tests and has been delivered in safe opera-
tion condition.
Before first operating of the instrument, check whether the volt-
age written on the instrument label is the same as that of the
power supply. The power cord may only be connected to a
grounded outlet. Do not use extension cords without ground
contact.

Some internal parts of the instrument are under AC power, un-
authorized manipulations can cause damage.
•
The ADC2 must only be used by properly trained laboratory
staff.
•
It’s not allowed to work with ADC2 in rooms with danger of
explosions.
•
The instrument contains highly sensitive electronic and me-
chanic parts; it should only be used in dry rooms at tempera-
tures between 18°C and 35° C.
Before installation and use,
the instrument should be acclimated properly .
•
Attention: Some solvent used as mobile phase may be
highly flammable. Please exercise the necessary caution
(e.g. keep away any hot items)!
•
If small volumes of liquid have entered the instrument it must
be unplugged immediately. After drying (for instance with a
hairdryer) the functionality of the instrument must be checked
prior to further use. If large volumes of liquid have entered
the instrument, the CAMAG service must be notified.
