Moreover an ActiveX object library (
activeHV
) is now available, enabling CAEN power
supplies to be controlled by and exchange data with a variety of Windows applications
supporting the ActiveX standard, including Visual Basic, Visual C++, Internet Explorer

As illustrated in Fig. 7.25 , both OPC Server and ActiveHV control are on the 4
th
level of
a layered software structure in which the 1
st
level is represented by the communication
drivers (for TCP/IP, RS232 or CAENET), the 2
nd
level consists in two libraries which
implement the details of communication respectively with SY1527/SY2527 and with
CAENET, and the 3
rd
level is the library called CAENHVWrap, providing a set of routines
for the C/C++ programmer (Windows/Linux platform) which permit the control of a
generic CAEN Power Supply System.
SY1527Lib (with support for connection on TCP/IP), A303Lib and CAENHVWrap
(without SY127 and SY527 Interfaces) are already available today; the new release of
CAENHVWrap, including SY127 and SY527 Interfaces is scheduled for the end of year
2000.
