CRM-3T: Cisco Router Module with Token Ring Backplane Connection

CSMIM2-T: TCP/IP Terminal Server and Ethernet Bridge

The CRM-3T is a router specially designed for the MMAC that utilizes
the main Token Ring bus of the MMAC-FNB chassis. The CRM-3T runs
the industry-leading routing software of Cisco Systems, and can
provide remote locations with several internetworking benefits,
including access authentication for security and header compression,
and priority queuing for improved bandwidth utilization. Two slots,
which may be configured with Network Process Modules (NPMs),
provide the CRM-3T with support for several combinations of
Ethernet, Token Ring, Wide Area (serial), FDDI and ISDN interfaces –
all on a single platform.

The CRM-3T takes up two slots in the MMAC chassis and requires the
purchase of NPM modules to provide routed ports. The CRM-3T can
support Token Ring operation at 4 or 16 Mbps.

The CSMIM2-T is a communications server module which supports TCP/IP
communications. Modems or other serial attached devices may access the
network through this device. In order to protect the human investment already
made, the CSMIM2 utilizes UNIX-like commands for connection management,
allowing trained terminal users easy and quickly-learned access to the network.
The CSMIM2 comes in a 16-port or 32-port version supporting UTP wire. The
16-port CSMIM2 is upgradable to a 32-port board with the purchase of an
upgrade kit.
