Multi-Ring Configuration

In order to create a new ring in the chassis, we need to add a module that will
break the single Token Ring backplane channel which the TRMIMs use into two.
The one Cabletron Systems module which does that is the Token Ring Bridging
Media Interface Module, or TRBMIM. Placing the TRBMIM in an MMAC chassis
closes the ring to the right of itself in the chassis and creates a new ring to the left
of the chassis, to which new TRMIMs may be added.

The TRBMIM module not only separates and bridges the backplane, it also
provides management for the TRMIM modules which are configured to operate
on that new ring. For that reason, we bypass the provision of a management
module for this new ring. The next thing we do is provide connectivity for the
Token Ring stations on this new ring.
