12 .3 ergonomics
The BBL’s loading area consists of a
2
.
30
m long conveyor belt, equipped with multiple
separators. The operator places these where he wants and then places the book blocks
in-between the separators. The conveyor belt can hold anywhere up to
120
blocks ensuring
autonomy of up to
20
minutes, depending on the thickness of the book blocks.
The loading area is ergonomic and completely independent of the loading cycles required by
the binder. In order to minimize the number of production stops, the BBL can be loaded by an
operator during the binding process enabling continuous production.
12 .4 easy and flexible operation
The concept behind the book loader is to improve the book binding process with a quick and
easy manual loading system that guarantees constant productivity. After loading the machine
with book blocks and while it automatically feeds those documents into the book binder, the
operator can use this extra time to attend other machines.
The separators allow for book blocks of variable thickness (
1
to
60
mm), to be processed by the
binder. It is not necessary for every space between separators to be filled with a book block.
12 .5 daily productivity
The BB
3102
has been designed to enable the operator to load book blocks onto the conveyor
belt independently of the binder’s book cycle. This allows a book block to be loaded in
4
seconds instead of
10
to
12
seconds, as is the case for the BB
3002
in off-line mode.
The BBL is designed to optimize the binder’s cycle time and to increase productivity to
400
bound books/hour.
The purpose of the BBL is not only to increase the productivity of the binder but also to free the
operator from the loading area in order to allow him to perform other tasks such as:
- unloading the BBR book receiver
- continuous cover loading
- 3 side trimming of the finished books, on-line or off-line
- working in conjunction with a second BB3102
