Radiation Leakage

1.

Close the shutter.

2.

Survey the entire tube housing with the Geiger counter at a distance of 50 mm from the 
surface of the tube housing to determine areas of high intensity radiation emission.

3.

When a radiation emission area has been located, measure the specific emission 
averaged over one square cm with the Victoreen 440 RF/C ionization detector at a 
distance of 50 mm from the surface of the tube housing.

4.

Record the location and measured intensity of leakage radiation on the diagram. The 
leakage radiation shall not exceed 0.5 mR/hr.
