The Data CD

Using the Data CD with APEX2

The data CD is designed to work with APEX2. To use the SMART X2S data CD with APEX2:

1.

Insert the data CD into the computer’s drive.

2.

If you have a sample open in APEX2, close it.

3.

Choose

Sample > Archive > Restore Archive...

from the Menu Bar.

The “Restore Archived Sample” window opens.

4.

Choose the “From CD” tab.

5.

The “Using CD Burner:” field should show the drive you wish to restore from. Otherwise,
use the

...

button to locate the drive.

6.

Click

Get Archive Information from CD

, and insert the archive CD.

The archive name appears so that you can check it for name conflicts with the existing
samples in the Sample Database (shown on the right-hand side of the window). If there
is a conflict, you can choose to change the name of the sample in the “Restore As:” field.

NOTE:

If you restore an archived sample using
the same name as an already-existing
sample, the restored sample will
overwrite the already-existing sample
in the Sample Database.

7.

Choose the appropriate group for the restored archive in the “Put in Group:” drop-down
menu.
