Table 1f: Power Supply Troubleshooting Guide.
This table provides some helpful troubleshooting suggestions if problems arise with the
power supplies.
Test Corrective
Action
√
1. Verify that the main circuit breaker
is on.
Reset the circuit breaker.
2. Verify that there is power at the
output of the 12V DC and 24V DC
supplies in the power supply box.
Check the continuity of the wires from the circuit breaker to the power
supplies.
3. Verify that the 12V DC power
supply output level is about 11V
DC.
Make sure that the 12V DC power supply adjustment is turned
completely counter clockwise.
4. Verify that there is 24V DC to the
control assembly in the controller
box.
Check the connections between the power supply and the control
assembly at J1 in the controller box. Measure between Pins 2 and 3.
The voltage should be between 23.5V and 25V DC
5. Verify that the Aux 5V DC, 5V DC
and 10V DC power indicator LEDs
(D26, D28 and D29) on the control
assembly are lit indicating power
to the single board computer and
the load cell board.
Turn off the main circuit breaker, pause for 30 seconds and turn on the
main circuit breaker. This should reset the control assembly. If this
fails, the control assembly may need to be replaced.
6. Verify that the computer in the
control assembly has power. If the
computer has a fan, it should be
turning.
If the computer is not receiving power, the control assembly may need to
be replaced.
7. Verify that the load cell signal
conditioning board has power.
LED D2 on the load cell board
should be lit.
If the load cell board is not receiving power, the control assembly may
need to be replaced.

Maintenance
•
To maintain this product, address the needs of
the items i n this secti on at their spe cified
intervals.
•
Unless otherwise noted, procedures in this
section are to be performed by the owner.
•
Carefully read and follow pertinent instructions
and safety messag es in this se ction before
starting any procedure in this section.
6.1
StepMetrix Controller
•
As necessary, clean the outside of the
controller using mild detergent and water (and
a sponge, if desi red), followed by a clear
water rinse. While cleaning the controller,
leave power to the controlle r on. Heat
generated by the controller, when on, helps to
keep
it dry insi
de.
— ATTENTION ———————————————————
Do not clean the c ontroller using high-pressure spray
nozzles; doing so m ay allow water to e nter the enclosure
and damage the electronic components.
6.2
StepMetrix sensor module
•
Cleaning the StepMetrix sensor module,
StepMetrix step up and S tepMetrix step down
should be p art of your d aily cleaning routine.
Manure needs to be cleaned out from under the
sensor module and from around load cells.
Manure around the load cells m ay seriously
affect the performance of the system in climates
where it might freeze.
•
The sensor module, step up, and ste p down
shall be visually inspected at least twice a year
to check for loose bolts or rocking sensor
modules.
•
An authorized BouMatic dealer or te chnician
must calibrate the sen sor module o nce every
six months or as needed.
