 Synchronization of HDX readers

— NOTE ——————————————————————

If there are other HDX (half duplex tag) readers within 500 ft

(150 m) of the StepMetrix ISO ID reader and HDX tags are

used  for Ste pMetrix  identification,  all  HDX  readers  within

500  ft (150   m)  must be   synchronized  with  the Ste pMetrix

ISO  ID reade r.  If the distance b etween  the  readers  is

greater than 500 ft (150 m), or onl y FDX (full duplex) tags

are used for the identification, synchronization of readers is

not necessary.

1.  If  there are other HD X  readers  in  addition  to the

StepMetrix  ISO  ID read er,  connect  a  two  wire

(shielded) cable from SYNC OUT of the StepMetrix ISO

ID reader to the SYNC of the other HDX reader. If there

is  a s econd  StepMetrix  ISO  ID read er,  connect  the

SYNC OUT of the first StepMetrix ISO ID re ader to the

SYNC IN of the second StepMetrix ISO ID  reader and

so  on  until  all  the  readers  are  connected  in  the sam e

daisy chain fashion.

2.2.7.3

StepMetrix ISO ID Connections and Tuning

1.  Verify that the tuner is connected to the ISO ID control,

as shown in Figure 22.

2.  Turn on power to the power supplies

3.  The  antenna  is  properly  tuned  when  the  green  tuning

LED on ISO ID contro l is on. If the red LE D on the left

is on, turn the  tuning slug counter-clockwise. If the r ed

LED  on  the  right  is o n,  turn t he  tuning  slug  clockwise

until the green tuning LED is on (see Figure 22).
