9.2 Entering rim data

The electronic vernier caliper can be used to record
rim diameters of up to 26". The rim data must be
recorded manually for wheels with a rim diameter of
26" to 30".

Apply the electronic vernier caliper for rim distance
and rim diameter to the rim.
The measurement location is indicated on the monitor
in accordance with the balancing program selected.
Storage of the position is confi rmed by an acou-
stic signal (refer to Section 8.4.2) and the position
data are displayed.

The rim width is measured automatically by way of
the laser.
The measurement location is indicated on the monitor

The wheel guard remains open during recording of
the rim width.

The individual values have now been read in and are
displayed on the monitor.

In the balancing programs Alu2, Alu3 and Pax2
(Easyfix®) the vernier caliper is used for recording
at both measurement locations.

Refer to Section 13 if the values are not read in
automatically.

If the rim data cannot be determined electronically,
enter the rim data manually (from the main page
<

> or in the "Balancing programs"menu <
u
>).
9.3 Measuring unbalance

A wheel can only be correctly balanced if all the set-
tings correspond to the clamped wheel.

Measurement can be stopped at any time:
$
Press < OK >.
$
Press the right pedal.
$
Press the wheel guard upwards slightly.
Start measurement with < OK > (GO).
The wheel guard closes automatically.
The unbalance measurement commences automatically.
On completion of the measurement the masses
and positions of the balance weights are indicated
on the monitor.
The wheel is automatically braked after the measure-
ment and stopped and fi xed in the correct position
for attachment of a balance weight.
The wheel guard opens automatically.
