Ignition with

Keys
NOTICE
The telltale light for the radio-
operated key flashes while the
search for the radio-operated key
is in progress.
The telltale light goes out as
soon as the radio-operated key
or the emergency key is found.
The telltale light goes out briefly
if the search times out without
the radio-operated key or the
emergency key being found.
You receive one radio-operated
key and one emergency key.
Please consult the information on
the electronic immobiliser (EWS)
if a key is lost or mislaid (
66).
Ignition, fuel filler cap and anti-
theft alarm system all work with
the radio-operated key. The seat
lock and topcase can be locked
and unlocked manually.
NOTICE
If the range of the radio-oper-
ated key is exceeded (e.g. in the
topcase) the vehicle cannot be
started.
If the radio-operated key is still
missing, the ignition is switched
off after approx. 1.5 minutes in
order to save the battery.
Do not store the radio-operated
key in the luggage compartment.
In some circumstances, the sig-
nal of the radio-operated key
cannot be received by the aer-
ial, and the seat can no longer be
opened.
It is advisable to keep the radio-
operated key on your person
(e.g. in a jacket pocket) and to
have the emergency key with
you as an alternative.

Lock the handlebars
Requirement
Handlebars are turned to the
left. Radio-operated key is within
range.
Press and hold down button 1 .
The steering lock engages with
an audible click.
Ignition, lights and all function
circuits switched off.
