When you defined the display stations and printer, default values were assigned for certain characteristics
of each device (see the list below). Before a printer can print any output, it must be assigned to a display
station. The System/36 allows you to define printer assignments through the CNFIGSSP process.

From Display 27.0, enter Option 6.

Display 40.0 (CNFIGSSP - Work Station ID Assignments).
The first display will show the 3262 System Printer, if you have one. If you do not have a 3262 Printer, the
first display will show the system console. By pressing <Enter>, you can display each controller and
attached display stations and printers. Press <Enter> until the LinkUp 5294 cluster controller added in
Part B appears. Following the LinkUp 5294 will be the attached devices for each port. In this example,
assign the printer ID P1 to device 01 on port 1. Press <Enter> until the next display station on Port 0
appears and assign the same printer. You have now assigned the remote printer to both workstations
(ports 1 and 3). Pressing <Enter> will store the assignment changes and display the next port.
