installation and programming

Load a Data Traffic Encryption Key (DTEK) key. The CKR number of the DTEK

must be between 1 and 61439. This number must match the DTEK number
programmed in the Source Radio.

Configuration set with the Radio Editor

Set operating mode to digital for Transmit and Receive.

NOTE:Channels maybe programmed to Mixed-Mode as long as the “Transmit Digital” switch is on
during OTAR and/or encryted operation.

Set the Transmit and Receive NAC.

Transmit NAC must match the source radio’s Receive NAC.
Receive NAC must match the source radio’s Transmit NAC.

Set the Encryption mode.

4.

It is recomended that the OTAR channel be set to Always Encrypt (Enc). If the channel is
programmed for switchable encryption, the switch must be in the encrypted position when sending
or receiving Tacital OTAR keys.

If the OTAR channel is to also be used as a communication channel, select the desired encryption
