The three following Busy Channel settings are for P25 digital operation only. In order for the functions
to operate properly Busy Channel operation must be set to “Lockout”. See “Busy Channel Mode” under
“General Tab”.
inhibit on carrier
If enabled, a digital channel is considered busy when the P25 status
symbol is not “Idle”. If an analog signal is present the channel is not
considered busy.
honor nac during Busy channel test
“Inhibit on Carrier” must be disabled for the “Qualify with NAC” to be selected.
If Disabled, the channel is considered busy when a digital P25 signal is
present regardless of the NAC.
transmit on nac mismatch
“Qualify with NAC” must be disabled for the transmit on NAC mismatch to be selected.
If transmit is selected, the user can transmit when the channel is busy.
ignore rx=tx freq. for tx Status
If enabled, the P25 status bit for Rx=Tx (Repeater Talkaround) is not
transmitted.
vote Scan Settings
Radio’s with Vote Scan Option KZA0581 can be programmed to select a channel with the strongest signal
strength from the list of voted scan channels in a zone. When vote scan criteria is met the radio checks all
channels marked with a ‘V’ in the san list. (See “Scan” setting under “Channel Information”)
vote Scan delay
- Time, in milliseconds, after initial qualification of
activity on a vote scan channel before voting begins.
vote Scan hold - How long the radio holds the voted channel, after
the signal has ended, before resuming scan activity.
NOTE: Vote Scan Hold time affects voted channels only. Channels
programmed with an ‘S’ in the scan setting will use the scan hold time set under the General Globals
Tab.
unit call liSt taB
P25 Unit IDs allow for Unit-To-Unit calls when the radio is operating in Digital Mode. If the calling unit’s
ID is on the Call List, the radio will display its label along with the phone icon, otherwise the numeric ID
will be displayed along with the phone and ID icon.
To use the radio to call a unit on the Call List, enter Unit-to-Unit mode and select “Call List”. Use the
keypad to enter the desired call list entry (0 - 100) and press PTT to place the call. Call can be placed
to individual radios who’s ID number is not programmed in the list by entering the Unit Call mode and
selecting “Enter ID”.
