maintenance

Set the Deviation to 3kHz to set the wideband preset squelch or 1.5 kHz to set the narrowband

preset squelch.

Adjust the radio volume knob for rated audio output

Reduce the input signal to achieve 8 dB SINAD

Click “Found 8db SINAD” to write the setting to the radio

Clicking “Abort” any time during the process will not write any settings.

vote Scan

The Vote Scan settings only effect radio with the KZA0581.

Connect an RF Generator tuned to the frequency indicated in the program at -90 dBm

Click “Set -90 dBm” to set the vote scan level

Remove the signal and click “Reset User RSSI” to reset to the factory value

5.4 diSaSSemBly/aSSemBly

5.4.1 Battery removal

1. Slide the release tab on the battery toward the bottom of the radio.

2. Pull the top of the battery out. (Approximately 30

)

3. Pull up to remove the battery pack.

5.4.2 antenna removal

1. Holding the base of the antenna turn counter clockwise to remove.

5.4.3 radio diSaSSemBly

assemblies

1. Remove the screws from the volume and channel select knobs.

2. Remove the knobs by pulling straight up.

3. Remove the two screws holding the Rx/Tx assembly to the radio case. (Near the bottom)

3. Gently pry the assembly up from the bottom until it clears the housing. (Approximately 30

)

4. Slide the assembly until the channel select and volume knobs clear the top of the housing.

5. Fold the assemblies open.

6. Disconnect the flex circuit connecting the assemblies.

rx/tx Board assembly

1. Remove the gasket from around the assembly.

2. Remove the slot nuts from the channel and volume switches.

3. Remove the seven screws holding the heatsink to the Rx/Tx Board.
