Electrical panel IO-module (M172)
The electrical panel IO-module (Schneider Electric type M172) can be updated using
a USB-storage device that can be inserted in the slot on the front of the module. The
update includes the program and the default configuration and parameter setup. The
configuration and parameter setup can be changed by reading a new parameter file
(see below step 2) or manually by changing it using the Settings menu (see section
9.6).
Step 1: update program with default configuration, electrical panel IO-
module
1.
If ACP is in operation, then stop operation and secure against unintended start of motors/
compressors.
2.
Obtain the correct program files for the electrical panel IO-module from BITZER.
3.
Prepare USB stick: Format the USB stick (FAT32). Then transfer the files from the folder to the USB
stick. Be sure to only transfer the files (and not the folder containing them) directly to the root of the
formatted USB-stick.
4.
Insert the USB-Stick in the slot on the top of the M172 electrical panel IO-module. Wait approximately
15 to 20 sec. to copy the data. The yellow light will turn on while reading from the USB-Stick and
turns off when the process is finished.
5.
Power cycle the M172 electrical panel IO-module (turn off the module, wait 5 sec. then turn on
again).
Step 2: update configuration and parameters, electrical panel IO-module
See section 9.8.3 on how to upload a parameter file that is different from the default configuration from a USB-
Stick to the M172 module.
See section 9.6 on how to modify the configuration and parameters manually through the M172 HMI (when
necessary).

Compressor, oil and economizer system modules, CM-SW-01 & CM-IO
The electronic modules on the compressors (BITZER CM-SW-01) and oil and
economizer system (BITZER CM-IO) can be updated using the BEST software. A
program update is handled as a firmware update, thus the update is handled as one
process. See also Technical Information ST-150 for further information.
1.
If compressor is in operation, then stop operation and secure against unintended start of motor/
compressor.
2.
Start BEST software. Make sure to have the latest version of BEST software installed. If in doubt:
click on BEST version (bottom right corner of BEST window) and click “Check for new version now!”.
3.
Select “New” from the top menu bar.
