Once the transmission on the field bus has been configured it is possible, by clicking on the TEST
button, to enter the section of writing and reading tests. This section is also dedicated to changing
the ProfiBus board address; with the + or - buttons it is possible to select the desired address, then
the Save button allows saving the desired address.
5.5.5.2 Modbus-RTU
The indicator can be connected in slave mode with Modbus protocol, via a serial port (Modbus-RTU) or via
TCP (Modbus-TCP).
A number of parameters specific to the Modbus protocol are also available in addition to the standard
parameters for configuring the transmission interface:
Scale Allows selecting a scale from those selected A, B, C, D, S or selected scale
Port It allows selecting the Port (e.g. 6001) or COM to use (COM4, COM6, COMx
depending on the optional boards or adapters fitted on the indicator)
String Modbus
Protocol Modbus-RTU
Modbus Slave ID 1 to 255, it sets the ID with which the slave identifies in the network
Enable little
endian Modbus It allows enabling the byte order as Little Endian
Swap float bytes
order Modbus In the case of float or long variables, it allows the order of the 2 modbus
registers to be changed.
The last two parameters (Enable little endian and Swap float bytes order) do not alter the reading of the
variables, but only adapt the convention for encoding and interpreting the values.
• Int variables can be programmed via configuration parameters such as big/little endian
• Long variables can be programmed via configuration parameters such as big/little endian and swapped
registers
• Float variables can be programmed via configuration parameters such as big/little endian and swapped
registers
• Boolean variables are essentially Int variables that can only take the value 0 or 1
