Launching
Preparation
The
fi
rst time your boat is launched is a crucial moment in its life.
Preparation and handling of the boat must be given care and re-
quires skill and professionnalism.
In addition, to claim any bene
fi
t from the guarantee in the event
of the failure of certain equipment, your BENETEAU dealer must
carry out the
fi
rst launch and the
fi
rst trials of the various pieces
of equipment.
In the event that you subsequently have to carry out the launching
procedure yourself, it is advisable to take the following precau-
tions:
- Plan the positions of the depth sounder and log if you wish your
boat to be
fi
tted with them.
- Withdraw the transducers for these into their housing (risk of
damage by the lifting slings).
- Check that the water intake strainers are clean.
- Close all water intake and drainage seacocks (i.e. sink, washbasin,
WC, engines).
- Check that the anodes are in a good condition and properly in
place. Anodes must never be painted.
- Attach a mooring line forward, a mooring line aft and fenders.
- As the boat is lifted, make sure that the slings do not go over any
fi
tting (e.g. depth sounder, log, etc.). Position the slings according
to the symbols marked on the hull.
The crane hook must be
fi
tted with a gantry or spreader system
holding two slings. The slings must not be hung directly on the
hook, as this will cause abnormal compression strain on the hull.
- Carry out the lifting gently. Use the mooring lines to control the
movement of the boat.
Lifting
danger
Do not remain on board the boat during lif-
ting.
The smooth running of all the equipment
on your boat depends ultimately on the quality
of the commissioning operations.
We strong recommend that you have
this delicate operation carried out
by a professionnal.
