ENGINES

- Empty the cooling water system and re

fi

 ll with liquid antifreeze.

- Turn off the battery switches, grease the terminals with Vaseline 
and check battery voltage.
- Change anode(s).
- Fill the fuel tanks to maximum in order to prevent condensa-
tion.

Ashore
- Remove the batteries and keep them charged.
- Proceed with emptying all cooling water, exhaust, oil and fuel 
systems.
- Carry out the manufacturer’s wintering operations (risk of frost is 
greater when the boat is ashore).
- Dismantle and grease the cooling system seacocks, leave them 
open and check the

 exible piping.

- Loosen the alternator and pump drive belts.

Refer to the engine manufacturer’s instructions for everything 
concerning the engines.

Preparation for wintering is different depending on 

whether the boat is left a

fl

 oat or ashore.
