Mooring
For mooring manoeuvres the boat must have enough mooring
lines available of a suf
fi
cient size, in good condition and appropriate
for the conditions (tide, tidal range, wind).
- Always manoeuvre under engine and at slow speed.
- Take the tide and wind into account when manoeuvring.
- Give the boat maximum protection with fenders of a suitable
size.
- Keep mooring lines clear and in position.
AFTER MOORING
- Protect the mooring lines from chafe with the aid of plastic
sheaths.
- If need be, take the variations of the water level into account.
Tow at reduced speed.
Make fast the towline so that it can be released under load.
Ensure that the method of towing and the attachment points cor-
respond to the towing conditions.
Towing
danger
Do not attempt to stop the boat using a foot,
hand or a boat hook.
