7.3
EMC Interaction Checkout
The EMC Interaction Checkout must be completed to verify the KA 310 does not cause any interference
with the aircraft avionics and no other installed aircraft system affects the operation of the KA 310. Use
the KI 300/KA 310 AP Alignment feature in the setup menu of the KI 300 to manipulate the analog
output of the KA 310. Refer to Section 6.1 and Section 7.1.2.
(1)
Power up the aircraft avionics, with KI 300 entering setup mode.
(2)
Power up the KA 310, verify there is no objectionable interference with the other aircraft
systems during KA 310 system start up.
(3)
Manipulate the KA 310 output (Refer to Section 7.1.2) and verify no interference with any other
aircraft systems.
(4)
Exit setup mode in KI 300.
(5)
If the autopilot includes the Flight Director Command Bar functionality, push the FD button to
display the flight director bars. Turn other aircraft systems off and on (excluding the autopilot),
verify no interference with Flight Director Bar display.
7.4
Post Installation Flight Checks
All flight checks must be performed by an appropriately rated pilot during the day under VFR at a safe altitude.
All installed aircraft equipment must be operated using normal aircraft operating procedures unless the
procedure requires otherwise.
7.4.1
KAP 100/KAP 150/KFC 150/KAP 200/KFC 200/KFC225 Flight Control System Flight Checks
After completing the ground system alignment procedures, the post-installation flight checks as
described in the appropriate STC Installation Manual of autopilot, must be accomplished.
Refer to the KA310 Autopilot Adapter Approved Model List for the approved aircraft installation.
