NOTE
IF COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE KI 300 AND KA 310 IS LOST, “AP OUTPUT FAIL” ANNUNCIATION WILL BE
DISPLAYED ON THE KI 300. DISCONTINUE AUTOPILOT ALIGNMENT AND DETERMINE CAUSE OF COMMUNICATION
FAILURE.
Table 7-3 identifies the maintenance action used for the KI 255, KI 256 or KG 258 and the equivalent
setup menu entry on the KI 300 using the AP Alignment Feature.

KI 300 AP Alignment Setup Menu
After the gyro is fully erected (10 minutes)
Power up the KI 300 in setup mode. Allow the KI 300 to
complete alignment.
Make sure that the attitude gyro indicates level in both
roll and pitch axes.
or
Set the gyro stand to zero in both pitch and roll axis.
Adjust leveling screws for pitch and roll zero visual
indication.
Enter 0 in the “AP Align Pitch” setup menu page
and
Enter 0 in the “AP Align Roll” setup menu page
Note: The AP Align Pitch and Roll menu pages automatically
set the other attitude output to zero. When using the AP
Align Pitch the Roll output is always zero and when using the
AP Align Roll the Pitch outputs is always zero.
Tilt the attitude gyro to 10° nose up.
Turn the rotary knob until 10 is displayed in the “AP
Align Pitch” setup menu page.
Tilt the attitude gyro to 10° nose down.
Turn the rotary knob until -10 is displayed in the “AP
Align Pitch” setup menu page.
Tilt the gyro to 25° right bank.
Turn the rotary knob until 25 is displayed in the “AP
Align Roll” setup menu page.
Tilt the gyro to 25° left bank.
Turn the rotary knob until -25 is displayed in the “AP
Align Roll” setup menu page.
Return gyro to level attitude in both ROLL and PITCH
axis.
Enter 0 in the “AP Align Pitch” setup menu page
and
Enter 0 in the “AP Align Roll” setup menu page
Note: The AP Align Pitch and Roll menu pages
automatically set the other attitude output to zero.
When using the AP Align Pitch the Roll output is always
zero and when using the AP Align Roll the Pitch outputs
is always zero.
Note: Refer to the appropriate autopilot STC Installation Manual.
7.2
Yaw Damper Checkout
If the KA 310 installation included replacing the KRG 331/332, the Yaw Damper Checkout must be
completed to verify the Yaw Damper is functioning correctly:
(1)
Power up the aircraft avionics.
(2)
Power up the KI 300 in setup mode. Refer to Section 6.1.
(3)
Allow the KI 300 to complete sensor alignment.
(4)
With the Yaw Damper disengaged, verify the pedals have no pressure on them.
