Engage the Yaw Damper by pressing the YD button on the flight control computer or the Yaw
Damper Rocker Switch on the instrument panel. Press either rudder pedal, and verify that the
yaw servo is engaged by the resistance to movement.

Press the rotary knob on the KI 300 to cycle through the set-up menu to "AP Alignment?" and
turn the rotary knob to select "Yes".

Press the rotary knob on the KI 300 to cycle through the AP Alignment menu to "AP Align Yaw
Rate".
(8)
Turn the rotary knob on the KI 300 clockwise to a positive yaw rate value (Refer to Figure 7-4).
Verify the rudder deflects to the left while turning the rotary knob. (Note: rudder movement
direction is determined by standing behind the aircraft facing towards the nose of the aircraft.
Refer to Figure 7-5).

Turn the rotary knob on the KI 300 counter-clockwise to a 0 deg/sec yaw rate setting. Allow the
rudder to return to a neutral position.

Turn the rotary knob on the KI 300 counter-clockwise to a negative yaw rate value (Refer to
Figure 7-4). Verify the rudder deflects to the right while turning the rotary knob.
(11)
Turn the rotary knob on the KI 300 clockwise to a 0 deg/sec yaw rate setting. Allow the rudder
to return to a neutral position.
(12)
Disengage the Yaw Damper by pressing the YD button on the flight control computer or the Yaw
Damper Rocker Switch on the instrument panel.
(13)
Press the rotary knob on the KI 300 to cycle through the set-up menu to “Exit Setup?” and turn
the rotary knob to select “Yes”. Press the rotary knob to exit the setup menus.
