Toothed belt tension values
The frequency is measured using a belt tension
measuring device.
7.6.1.2 X and Z axis belt drive
After mounting the robot on the injection
moulding machine it is necessary to check and
adjust the belt in order to eliminate any tension
caused by the axis support. The belt must not
be allowed to touch the flanged wheels on the
deflection roller at any point during the stroke
movement.
This is done by slackening off the 4 clamping
bolts (Pos.1) and adjusting the deflection wheel
axis using the setscrews (Pos.2) in the cover
plate on the axis support. Then retighten the
clamping bolts.
7.6.1.3 Toothed belt replacement
If a damaged toothed belt has to be replaced, it
is important that the new belt is retightened
during the first 5-6 operating hours.
7.6.1.4 Noise
After a while the toothed belts are likely to make
a noise when the brakes are applied with force
at high speeds.
The toothed belts are made of polyurethane
which tends to make a noise when the belts are
running over the aluminium drive wheels.
This, however, does not affect the operation or
repeating accuracy of the robot.
Solution: Spray the drive wheel teeth with
commercial soap solution (1 part solution/1 part
water) 1 to 2 times a week.
