4.7
Parameter for acyclic communication
The FDL service SRD and SAP 51 is used for sending
data. The master parameterizes and configures the slave
as for cyclical data communication. Then it can carry out
the previously described acyclic services with the slave in
data communication.
Communication always consists of a request frame from
master to slave and a response frame from slave to
master. Multiple polling cycles with no data can be sent
back and forth with no data between the two telegrams.
4.7.1 Acyclic services (DP-V1)
In addition to cyclical data communication, PROFIBUS
offers acyclic services which are described in DP-V1. The
telegram structure for DP-V1 is modular. The data are
addressed as
slot number
and as
index
. The slot number
indicates the module, and the index addresses a data
record within this module. In the BTL7-T500… all
parameters are accessed via Slot 0 Index 47. Excepted
from this are the I&M parameters, which are accessed via
Slot 0, Index 255.
4.7.2 Module access point parameters
By selecting the inserted module (e.g.
Standard_telegram 81) the parameters can be configured:

4.7.3 Measuring direction (Code Sequence)
The standard value is
Min. Value at connector side
, i.e. the
zero point is at the marking for the profile style and at the
flange for the rod style. Setting
Max. Value at connector
side
reverses the measuring direction. If
Encoder Class 4
is disabled, the setting is ignored.
This setting is not affected by the Scaling control parameter.
4.7.4 Encoder Class 4 functionality
This parameter can be used to affect the function of the
parameters
Measuring direction

Preset affects XIST1
, and
Scale control
. If this parameter is enabled (
Enable
), the
features named above are enabled. If it is disabled
(
Disable
), the controlled functions are also switched off.
Preset affects XIST1 (G1_XIST1 Preset Control)
This parameter controls the effect of a preset on the
current value of G1_XIST1. Setting this parameter to 1
does not disable the preset function!
This parameter is without function if Encoder class 4
functionality is disabled.
4.7.5 Scaling function control
If scaling is disabled, the magnetostrictive linear position
sensor provides 1 µm resolution per bit (LSB) and the
physical maximum possible stroke in µm. The same is true
if both parameters
Measuring steps [0.001 µm]
and
Measuring range in steps
are set to 0 (default).
If scaling function control is enabled, then the settings for
Scaling: measuring steps per measuring range
and
Scaling: Total measuring range
are ignored.
