Configuration (continued)
4.3.4 STW2_ENC Encoder control word 2
Bit 10: Control by PLC
This bit must be set so that the slave sets the bits in
G1_STW.
If compatibility mode V3.1 (see section 4.7.7 on
page 19) is enabled, this function is then disabled.
Entries in G1_STW are then also applied without
Control by PLC
needing to be set.
Bit 12…15: Master life sign
The value range is from 1 to 15. A value of 0 indicates an
error and is not used otherwise.
The master starts the master life sign with any value. The
value is incremented by 1 with each master application
cycle. A 1 then follows 15 again if there is no error.
4.3.5 G1_ZSW - Sensor Status 1 word
The Sensor 1 Status Word indicates states of the encoder
and reflects the result of the setting in the sensor control
word G1_STW.
Bit 11: Acknowledging encoder errors in process
(requirement of error acknowledgment detected)
This bit indicates that the acknowledgment of a sensor
error is in progress. It is set if resetting an error after
acknowledgment takes longer than one bus cycle.
Bit 12: Confirmation: Set/ shift of home position
executed
Indicates that an offset has been set.
Bit 13: Confirm transmission of actual value 2
(transmit absolute value cyclically)
This bit is independent of bit 13 in G1_STW and indicates
that the encoder is transmitting the absolute value of
magnet 1 in G1_XIST2. Bit 13 cannot be set
simultaneously with bit 15.
Bit 14: Confirmation: Parking sensor active
Indicates that the encoder is parked and therefore not
transmitting error messages.
Bit 15: Sensor error
Indicates a sensor error. The error code is output in
G1_XIST2. Bit 13 and bit 15 cannot be set simultaneously.
Bit 13 indicates the transfer of a valid position value in
G1_XIST2, bit 15 indicates that the error code is being
sent in G1_XIST2.
4.3.6 ZSW2_ENC Encoder status word 2
Bits 0…8
Bits 0…8 are not used.
Bit 9: Control requested
This bit indicates that Bit Control by PLC is set in STW2
(see STW2_ENC Encoder Control Word 2).
Bit 10
Bit 10 is not used.
Bits 12-15: Slave sign of life
In the second status word, only bits 12 to 15 are used as
slave signs of life. This is a four-bit counter. After
successful synchronization starts with a value between 0
and 15. In each cycle the slave increments the counter; the
value range is from 1 to 15. A value of 0 indicates an error.
4.3.7 Current position values G1_XIST1 and
G1_XIST2
G1_XIST1 and G1_XIST2 are the current position values of
magnet 1 in binary format. Parameter 979
Sensor Format
defines the shift of the bits. The preset shift value for both
parameters is zero (right-justified value). Both position
values are affected by the encoder parameter settings.
In the case of an error, G1_XIST2 always contains the error
code, regardless of other settings. If there is no error, then
Bit 13 (Request absolute value cyclically) in G1_STW
determines the behavior (see section 4.3.3 on page 13).
If Bit 13 is set, then G1_XIST2 den contains the position
value of magnet 1. If Bit 13 is not set, then G1_XIST2
contains the error value 16#7FFFFFFF.
