5. Processing
Note
Observe all relevant national regulations and standards with regard to
processing.
Note
For patients with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), suspected CJD or
possible variants of CJD, observe the relevant national regulations
concerning the reprocessing of the products.
Note
Up-to-date information on processing can be found on the Aesculap

Note
Processing of accessories such as handpieces, tools and tubing is described
in the respective instructions for use and product care advisories. Do not
process products that are intended for single use only.
5.1 Processing the microspeed® uni control unit with
cooling unit GD670 and microspeed® uni foot
control devices GD668/GD671
5.1.1 Cleaning/Disinfection
¾
Use cleaning/disinfecting agents that are suitable for surface cleaning
of the product.
¾
Always follow the manufacturers’ instructions regarding concentration
and exposure time.
¾
Avoid encrustation of residues/proteins (e.g. caused by aldehyde/
alcohol).
¾
Only use bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal disinfecting agents.
¾
Never immerse the product in water or detergent.
¾
Never boil or mechanically disinfect the product.
¾
Let any fluid that penetrated the product drain out immediately.
CAUTION
Damage to, or destruction of the product caused by
mechanical cleaning/disinfecting!
¾
Always clean and disinfect the product manually, never
in a machine.
¾
Do not sterilize the product under any circumstances.
DANGER
Risk of electric shock and fire!
¾
Unplug the device before cleaning it.
¾
Do not use flammable or explosive cleaning and
disinfecting agents.
¾
Make certain that no fluids will penetrate the product.
CAUTION
Damage to the product due to inappropriate cleaning or
disinfecting agents!
¾
Only use a cleaning/disinfecting agent that is approved
for surface cleaning. Follow the manufacturer’s
instructions for the respective cleaning/disinfecting
agent.
