What IP Address Must You Assign for the FRITZ!Box Fon and
What Else Must Be Taken into Consideration?

The IP address must come from the address range of
your existing subnet.
z
The subnet mask must correspond with that of the con-
nected subnet.
z
When the DHCP server of the FRITZ!Box Fon is enabled,
the addresses 20 through 200 in the fourth group of nu-
merals of the IP address are reserved for the DHCP serv-
er. If none of the computers in your network has an ad-
dress from this pool, the DHCP server can remain
switched on. If one of the computers has a fixed ad-
dress assigned from this pool, you should switch off the
DHCP server.

face after entering the IP address, see the information
in the section “Opening the FRITZ!Box Fon User Inter-
face via the Fixed IP Address” from page 56.
Reserved IP Addresses
The following address range is reserved in FRITZ!Box Fon for
internal purposes.
IP addresses from this range may not be assigned to
FRITZ!Box Fon.
How Can the IP Address be Changed?
1.
Open the FRITZ!Box Fon user interface (see the section
“Opening the User Interface” on page 23.
2.
Click “Expert Mode” in the “System” menu, enable the
setting “Show expert settings” and confirm this setting
by clicking “Apply”.
3.
Open the “System / Network Settings” menu.
4.
Click the “IP Addresses” button.
